At our first contest, we showed up with 3 Big Green Eggs, an EZ-UP 10X10 Canopy and a couple of folding utility tables. I learned two very important things that weekend. First, Loading and unloading multiple 140 pound cookers at multiple people's houses into and out of a pickup truck is a lot of trouble, and second prepping all of our competition meat at a 3 foot tall table is back breaking for a 6'2" man. I vowed that day that I would never have to do those 2 things for another contest. From that experience the plan for the cooking rig began to linger in my mind.
Already having access to a 16-foot utility trailer made the decision on the platform easy. Also, having built several custom tables to house Big Green Eggs, I knew what kind of structure it takes to house a ceramic cooker. From this, the plan was made.

The Result is what some have dubbed the Co-Bro’s "egg carton". The front of the trailer houses the prep area which consists of: a 4.5 foot tall wood framed table with a 18 gauge stainless steel top, a utility sink with hookup for water, a shelf area, bus box storage, and room for a 150qt ice cooler and a Cambro hot holding box. Along the right side are two separate tables that permanently house two Big Green Eggs each. All three tables bolt directly to the trailer frame for stability and we use nylon ratchet tie down straps across each egg to secure the grills during transport. The latest addition is the custom 10X16 canopy, which is a lifesaver on both rainy and sunny days. The frame fits into receivers welded onto the trailer frame, however we do take the frame down during transport.

Future plans include adding permanent electrical wiring and hot water capabilities..

Overall, we are extremely pleased with the rig. All we have to do is pull it out of the garage and we're on the road. Once at the event we just put up the canopy if necessary and we're all set. Functionally we have all we need for competitions, and it easily pulls behind a Chevy Tahoe. For more details just stop by at our next event for a tour!
